Trick or Treat?

Trick or Treat? Happy Halloween everyone! With it being Halloween and all, it seemed only right to bake some thing creepy and Halloween themed, so today I made marshmallow ghooly pops, and spider web cupcakes. I love Halloween and I love chocolate and I also love really easy and pretty things so these bakes were just perfect! Also the marshmallow pops are sooo quick and easy to make that you could give them to any trick or treaters as a tasty Halloween treat! Alternatively you could just treat yourself to a tasty treat! Spider Web cupcakes

Ingredients:
  • 125g Softened Butter
  • 125g Caster sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 170g Self Raising flour
  • 5g Coco powder
  • 100g Dark chocolate
  • 100g White chocolate

Method:
Pre-heat the oven to 180c. Beat the butter until smooth then add the sugar and beat again for a further couple of minutes. In a separate mug whisk the eggs then add gradually to the butter and sugar. Finally sift in the coco powder and flour. Place on the middle shelf of your oven for 18 minutes (might need a little more/less depending on your oven) check they are done by touching the largest one, it should spring back. Set them aside to cool.

Whilst the buns are cooling melt the chocolate in two separate bowls. To create the spider web effect choose one of your chocolates and cover a cake with it. Before the chocolate cools use a spoon to drizzle circles onto the chocolate covered cake using the other chocolate. Finally use a cocktail stick to mark out the structure of the web by drawing lines out to the edge from the centre. Continue this process with all of the cakes until you have a full set of spider webs! Enjoy! Happy Halloween!
